ARISE MY LORD

 I had been giving many live chalk drawings of the Crucifixion for over a year. I only had confidence that I would be guided to draw only one image. Drawing the crucifixion was powerful, especially during Lent. But finally I was asked to draw during the week of Easter for a local youth group. I felt led to change the image so that the resurrection would be a part of the image. An image was on my heart, but I struggled to get it on paper. Then late Easter evening the image emerged from my mind onto the paper.

The chalk and pencils flowed across the page in a few hours.

Giving prints to those who are ill and families who mourn their dead gives them hope. The message conveyed is that there could be no Easter unless there is a Good Friday.
