 “In Him we have Redemption by His Blood, the Forgiveness of Transgressions, in accord with the riches of His Grace that He lavished upon us.” This unique artwork was created in 1974 while I was in college. I was experimenting with mixed media. Oil and acrylic paints were mixed on a surface. Placing a small piece of mat board on this free-formed marbleized image created a mono print. I had no control over the outcome. When I looked at this small piece of mat board, I saw an image of the crucifixion emerge from the paint spills. I began using ink and pencil to create Jesus on the cross. As I look back, I think it was the red drips of paint that reminded me of the blood He shed for us. This was truly an inspired piece of art work that was created very swiftly! |
